I'm in Two Books about Animation!

I was privileged enough to be mentioned several times in both of David B. Levy's books on animation and pitching for series. These are some of the most comprehensive books for both beginners and professionals alike.

Go Green (Again)!

I just received a few copies of a magazine cover I did for The Washington School in New Jersey. The kids (with the help of a professional publisher) write articles and come up with content for an environmental magazine. It's an annual magazine, and I started by doing another cover last year.

Animate Over Live Action!

Wow! What an incredible start to my year of freelancing! Every gig is so different and creatively exciting for me. Here is a frame of full fluid animation I recently finished for a live-action/ animated feature film (note the live action kid's body behind my animation-LOL), "The Tolltaker." It is a great film about the residual effects of a person going to war and how it affects their families back at home. Thanks for checking me out, and please check out the work of the crew on this film--especially the VERY talented director and animation director!

Let Them Drink Wine!

Continuing with the illustration gigs, I recently did a quick sketch in Flash for an online food and drink magazine, "The Heavy Table." The food looks so good on that site, I wanted to move to Minnesota, until I remembered how cold it gets there.

Babies, Babies Everywhere!

Most of my work is for hire, but recently, I have been asked by a few friends and family to produce animated e-card invites for their babies' birthdays. I love it!!! My first assignment was for a one-year-old boy, Kai. He needed a 'Tol' theme.

'Tol' has two meanings in Korean; the most common meaning is a child's first birthday. It can also be used as a generic description for birthdays: Chut-tol (first birthday), Du-tol (second birthday), Seo-tol (third birthday), etc. My second assignment was for a two-year-old girl (too cute) named Brooke. (Side note: I'm predicting my next baby e-card will be for a three-year-old. LOL.) Anyhow, these were a lot of fun to do!

TOON BOOM LIVE!

I thought I would post a few frames from a board I recently produced for a LIVE ACTION feature. The script was 122 pages, and I'm estimating the total frame count will pass 5,000. It was a blast to do boards where I could play around with the camera. I was able to do a lot of that with "Storm Hawks" too, but most animated productions aren't that loose. So needless to say, I really enjoyed working on a live action board for a change. Keep 'em coming!

Storm Hawks!

I was privileged enough to be the Storyboard Director on two episodes of Cartoon Networks' "Storm Hawks" series. It was A LOT of work to board two full episodes back-to-back, but the final product made it worth all of the hard work. The episodes are finally up on YouTube.

GYM CLASS!!!

This is a 'sneak peek' at a character from my new short that should be done by February, if all goes as planned. I'm really excited because I put this project on the back burner for awhile when I was really busy on other projects. The backgrounds (all 85+) and character designs (25+) were done over a year ago. Yahoo! I finally get to animate it! Full speed ahead now!
